| RAF Chilmark |

Added on 11/03/2010 RAF Chilmark is a supply depot situated near Fovant in Wiltshire.Dealing with mostly munitions it comprises of two sites. An underground facility on the main site comprising of a network of caves from which the stone from Salisbury Cathedral was excavated and an overground facility at Baverstock some four miles away. It is probably the only RAF unit to have a fully trained mines rescue unit available for call out to any part of the country. RAF Chilmark played a big part in the logistics for Operation Corporate. One set of caves is now closed because it houses a colony of rare bats.
