RFA Aldersdale (X 34) was a Royal Fleet Auxiliary Oiler ship) lost during convoy PQ17 in 1942 and was originally one of 6 ships ordered by the British Tanker Co which were purchased on the stocks by the Admiralty.

Laid down: September 1936
Launched : 07 July 1937
Commissioned :17 September 1937
Fate : |Damaged by bombing from 3 Junkers aircraft after Convoy PQ 17 had been ordered to scatter on 05 July 1942 and was abandoned. The drifting wreck was torpedoed and sunk by U-457 on 07 July 1942.
