Tower Type: Unique control tower built on top of operations block
Tower 2007: ’’Renovation plans for Twatt control tower’’
The World War II control tower at Twatt aerodrome could be renovated and opened to the public by the Birsay Heritage Trust.
Councillors at today’s OIC recreation and cultural services committee recommended that the trust take on the project, which will see them enter into a legal agreement with the council, as owners of this "important military site".

Many Fleet Air Arm Sqns disembarked here until airfields closure in 1949, sold off 1957
