Dates: 1967 - RFA Tarbatness (A345) was a fleet stores ship of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. In the early 1980s the ship was bought by the United States. Launched: 28 February 1967 Commissioned: 10 August 1967 Decommissioned: 1980. Laid up at Gibraltar on 1 April. Fate: Acquired on charter by United States Military Sealift Command on 30 September 1981. Renamed USNS SPICA (T-AFS 9) on 5 November 1981. Purchased by USMSC on 30 September 1982.
