HMS Loch Killin

Dates: 1944 - 1956

HMS Loch Killin (K391) was a Loch class anti-submarine frigate. She was built by Burntisland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and commissioned on 12 April, 1944 . Complement: 114.

She was transferred to Plymouth when Dartmouth Sub-Division closed. She was damaged when a dry dock was flooded accidentally in March 1949 during refit. Although she was nominated for modernisation this was cancelled in June 1951. She transferred to Reserve Fleet Sub-Division at Penarth in June 1956

U-Boat Sinkings:

U-333 on 31 July 1944 with HMS Starling this was the first successful use of the Squid system.
U-736 on 6 August 1944.
U-1063 on 15 April 1945.
