The HMS Fitzroy was a Destroyer ship, which belonged to the Captain Class Frigates of ships.

The ship had a displacement of 1430 Tons and was launched from the Bethlehem shipyard, on 01/09/1943.

The ship was the 2nd of the line, the 1st was a Survey ship, Later a ’Hunt’ class minesweeper launched by Lobnitz on 15/04/1919.
Originally PINNER then PORTREATH. Sunk by mine off Gt. Yarmouth 27/05/1942.

The ship was on lend lease from the US Navy and was returned on 05/01/1946.
