  Dates: 1945 - 1959 BAY Class Anti-Aircraft Frigate initially ordered on 25th January 1943 for build as a LOCH Class Anti- Submarine Frigate, but for which the ordered was changed in 1944. Originally to have been named LOCH ROWAN she was laid down on 24th April 1944 and launched as CAWSAND BAY by Blyth Dock at Blyth on 26th February 1945. First RN ship to carry this name she was completed on 13th November 1945. Badge: On a Field per fess Gold and Blue an anchor ccounter charged within a circle composed of in chief four roses Red barbed and seeded proper and in base four bezants Gold
