Dates: 1895 - Formed 1895 and successors to Money Wigram & Co. 1904 instituted a joint service with Houlder Bros from New Zealand to Australia and South Africa. 1906 Joint service with Houlders and Shire Line commenced (see routes). 1912 taken over by New Zealand Shipping Co but continued to trade as a separate concern. Houlders withdrew from joint service at the same time. 1916 parent company NZSCo taken over by P&O Line. In 1973 the remaining Federal ships were transferred to P&O Line
