Burnett Steamship Co

In 1962 Burnett Steamship Company, which had its head office in Newcastle, was taken over by the Canadian company, Federal Commerce and Navigation Limited and thereafter operated as a subsidiary of the Fednav Group. The last ships registered to Burnett Steamship Company were the sisters "Avon Forest" and "Laurentian Forest", which both left Burnett ownership in 1980 but the name may still exist within the Fednav Group.
