Admiralty Wireless Station Kranji Singapore in 2010Written by  "Kranji was approx 12 miles from Singapore on the Bukit Timah Road. Turn left at Yew Tea village and ahead was the remote Aerial paddock and on the right were two or three married quarters. If you turned left and up the hill the main camp was sprawled around the top. This was also the Far East signals training centre. Also used as an R and R base for ships in the Dockyard. It was manned by radio operators (civvy) and navy and radio tech personnel. onr electrician, one stoker and a chief stoker for our diesel power. We had our own cinema, swimming pool, soccer field (which you could play on within 15 minutes of the monsoon finishing. We could field a full soccer team and rugby team. In all there were about 60 RN staff."
