| Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry |
  Dates: 1968 - The Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry was first formed in 1782 and given the name the 32nd Regiment of Foot. In 1858, it became the 32nd (Cornwall) Light Infantry and in 1881, it was named the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. There have been several notable members of the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry including Harry Patch, one of the last surviving First World War veterans. Three members of the regiment have been awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery. In 1959, the regiment merged to become the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry. Part of the regiment’s former barracks in Bodmin serve as a museum.
