HMS Loch Glendhu

The H.M.S LOCH GLENDHU was a sole named frigate ship, which belonged to the ’Loch’ class of frigate ships.

The Loch class was a class of anti-submarine (A/S) frigate built for the Royal Navy and her allies during World War II. They were an innovative design based on the experience of 3 years of fighting in the Battle of the Atlantic and attendant technological advances.

The ship had a displacement of 1435 Tons and was launched from the Burntisland shipyard, on 18 October 1944.

The ship was broken up in November 1957 at Dunston.
