HMS Porchester Castle

The H.M.S PORCHESTER CASTLE was a sole named CORVETTE ship, which belonged to the ’castle’ class of ships.

The ship had a displacement of 1010 Tons and was launched from the Swan Hunter shipyard, on 21/06/1943.

The ship ’starred’ in the film The Cruel Sea as H.M.S. Saltash Castle in 1955.

The ship was sold and broken up at Troon in 1958.
