| HMS Palliser |
Dates: 1957 - 1983 HMS Palliser was part of the Blackwood class frigates. These type 14 frigates were cheaper and quicker to build than that of the Whitby class. They were ordered by the Admiralty in march 1951. With the first completed in March 1956 HMS Dundas. Due to them being of simple design they had limited usage, compared to other frigates. But they did perform well in Anti Submarine exercises, this mainly being due to them having continued periods of time in training compared to the crews of other Frigates which were constantly being used so their training was interrupted. The Palliser was paid off on 06/09/1991 and scrapped in 1983 in Neath.
