| HMS Lofoten |
Dates: 1945 - 1967 HMS Lofoten was a Landing Ship Tank (Pennant Nos. LST 3027 then K07) built by Blyth Shipbuilding and commissioned 24 October 1945. Complement: 110. She saw little service before being laid up in reserve. During the Suez crisis she was used to land the transport for 45 Commando which was part of the first ever operational helicopter assault. Converted to a helicopter training support ship at Devonport Dockyard in 1964. In 1967 Lofoten was replaced in this role by the purpose built RFA Engadine. Lofoten was laid up in 1969 to be used as an accommodation ship and as a support vessel alongside nuclear submarines undergoing refits at Rosyth Royal Dockyard, before finally being sold for scrap in 1993.
