The Royal Artillery Recruiting Team is designed to give maximum impact on potential recruits. The team who are dedicated to promoting the Royal Artillery are based in Larkhill, Salisbury, and has been made up from a team of fully trained soldiers from all elements of the Royal Artillery. The team has no boundaries on their recruiting effort, and attends army exhibitions, county shows; town fete’s and supports many charity events throughout the UK and Germany.
The Parachute Display Team was formed in 1977 after the amalgamation of Independent teams, 29 Commando Regiment, who were nicknamed "The Buccaneers" and 7 Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, who were "The Black Knights". They were then relocated to Woolwich where the team stayed until unforeseen circumstances enforced the closure of the team in 1995, although still remaining registered with the British parachuting Association throughout.
The motorcycle Display team is based in Larkhill, Salisbury. All the riders are fully trained gunners from the Royal Artillery units. They stay in the team for between two and four years.
Each year the team gives approximately 120 separate performances at different venues. During recent years they have made appearances at The Royal Tournament, The Rhine Army Summer Show, The Fortress Fantasia in Gibraltar, and every major agricultural or trucking show in the UK.
