| RAF Barnham |
Dates: 1950 - 1960 RAF Barnham was an RAF base situated in Suffolk, England, which was home to a nuclear weapon store during the 1950s. However, in the early 1960s, the base itself was put up for sale, and now forms the Gorse Industrial Estate. The adjacent MoD Training Area (Section 28) remained the property of the Her Majesty’s Government, and is still used by many RAF sections, including the RAF Regiment Training Wing, the RAF Force Protection Centre, a number of Rapier Fire Units, Air Defence squadrons and CCF units.

" Quoting: Stephen Charters Question from my Father, who served at RAF Barnham in the 50’s. Is there an Official ’ Cold War Medal ’ to apply for ? Would appreciate any Feedback. Many Thanks. Alright Stephen, The short answer is no. You can however buy an unofficial or ’bling’ medal but this can’t be worn along side real gongs. "
