HMS Orpheus ships company, Devonport 1985

Dates: 1959 - 1994

The H.M.S ORPHEUS was a sole named submarine ship, which belonged to the ’Oberon ’class of ships.

The ship was launched from the Vickers shipyard, Barrow-in-Furness, on 17 November 1959.

The sub had a Diesel / Electric generator propulsion system.

She was in harbour service in 1987 and was broken up in 1994.
