Added on 12/07/2010HMS Jufair was a Royal Naval shore base on the island of Bahrain in the Pesian Gulf.It was a communications centre for the RN covering the Gulf region and further afield as far as I know. I was based on the ACE facilities barge attached to Jufair, we would supply power to the Tribal class frigates based in the Gulf, they were then able to shut down and carry out self maintenance programes. I do believe HMS Jufair was closed sometime in the 70s.
