The H.M.S VIDAL was a sole named survey ship, which belonged to the class of ships.
The ship had a displacement of 1940 Tons and was launched from the Chatham DY shipyard, on 31/07/1951.
She was the last surface and oceanographic survey vessel built (1951-1954) at Chatham Dockyard.
During the 1963-1965 commission she steamed 68,439 miles
The ship was sold and scrapped in June 1976 in Bruges.
