| HMS Venus |
  Dates: 1943 - 1972 "V Class destroyers ordered from Fairfield of Govan, Glasgow with the 8th Emergency Flotilla on 1st September 1941. She was laid down on 12th January 1942 and launched on 23rd February 1943 as the 11th RN warship to carry this name previously used for a cruiser sold in 1921. She had been adopted by the civil community of Evesham, Worcestershire following a successful "WARSHIP WEEK" National Savings campaign in November 1941. Build was completed on 28th August 1943 and the ship was fitted for arctic service. Badge : On a Field Blue, the symbol of the planet Venus Gold.
