HMS Droxford

Dates: 1954 - 1989

The HMS Droxford, P3113, was a sole named ship which was Re-named HMS DEE in 1955.
It was later Re-named HMS DROXFORD again in 1965.


The ship served for a time as the tender for Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities Royal Naval Unit (URNU).

The vessel was used to train Midshipmen who were students of the universities and participated in fishery protection duties along the west coast of Scotland. HMS Beckford(P3104) was re-named HMS Dee and served as the tender to Liverpool University Royal Naval Unit (LURNU)

It then became a Target vessel in Milford haven between 1989-1993.
