| HMS Flint Castle |
  Dates: 1943 - 1956 HMS Flint Castle (K383) was a Castle-class corvette. She was named after Flint Castle in North East Wales. Complement: 120 Built by Henry Robb at Leith, she was commissioned on 31 December 1943 and served with the Clyde Escort Force until November 1945. HMS Flint Castle was then transferred to the Second Training Squadron at Portland where she remained until March 1956. She was used to portray a German anti-submarine vessel in the 1955 movie The Cockleshell Heroes. The final third of the film The Cruel Sea is set on a Castle class corvette.
